AgVision Cost Share Pilot Program

AgVision offers grants up to $10,000 to help producers diversify or innovate their agricultural operations. 

This pilot program is available for operations in the following counties:  

· Southwest: Grayson, Lee, Russell, Washington, Wythe 

· Southern: Appomattox, Bedford, Brunswick, Campbell, Charlotte, Cumberland, Pittsylvania 

To apply and participate in this program, you must:

· Be eligible by operating a farming enterprise in a participating county, have your primary residence in the Tobacco Commission footprint, and have insurance for your farm business

· Complete the Intent to Apply form (you’re off to a good start!) by November 30, 2026. Applications received after this date may be considered, depending on program interest. Contact your local extension agent or Lyndsie Young, Ag Program Manager, with any questions. lyoung@revitalizeva.org

· Complete a full Grant Application (if invited). Your Extension agent and others involved in the program can assist you in its completion. There will also be online "How to Apply" workshops and other assistance.

· Attend In-Person Grantee Orientation (if awarded a grant) in early March. These half-day orientation sessions will be held in your region and will include lunch, a detailed review the grantee agreement, and resources to help implement your practice and write your business plan. 

· Write a business plan. All grant recipients must complete an approved business plan for the practice they are implementing. Each awardee will have a professional assigned to help them complete this plan.

· Keep good records and report on project success. Reporting documentation (mid-year and final) to include expenses, income, receipts, match funding documentation and a final survey will be required.
